Sae Hae Bae

Sae Hae Bae is a Toronto-based pianist, composer, and educator. She was born in Korea into a musical family, where she first started learning piano from her mom. Soon after her family immigrated to the West Coast of Canada, she started giving public concerts at various venues on Vancouver Island.

A winner of numerous prizes and scholarships at prestigious institutions while pursuing her studies at Eastman School of Music, University of Toronto, and Royal Conservatory of Music, she was on the Dean’s List for her academic excellence and has won the Dean’s Scholarship, The Women’s Art Association of Canada Scholarship, U of Toronto Music Award, the Margaret Parsons-Poole and Clifford Poole Scholarship.

She had the privilege of working with many great teachers along the way, including Bruce Vogt, Jamie Syer, Shigeo Neriki, and Enrico Elisi. In 2020, she finished her final degree completing the Artist Diploma studies at ‘Glenn Gould School’ under the tutelage of the late Marietta Orlov.

She regularly performs solo and chamber recitals across Canada, US, Italy, France, and in S.Korea. She has performed in the venues such as ‘Kilbourn Hall’, ‘Macmillan Theatre’, ‘Studley Theatre’, ‘The Port Theatre’, ‘Jardin de l’Ange’, ‘Château de Fontainebleau’, ‘Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris’, ‘Four Seasons Hotel Seoul’, ‘Carnegie Weill Recital Hall’, to name a few.

During the pandemic, she worked and taught at a British International School leading the Cambridge IGCSE program and ABRSM exams in Seoul, Korea. She recently opened her private studio in Toronto. She is an RCM-registered teacher and a SOCAN(ASCAP) artist. Her compositions are currently being distributed through Vancouver Island 4321 Publishing and Amazon, and she currently works as a collaborative pianist at the University Of Toronto. In summer months, she spends time in the Maritimes on the East Coast of Canada in South Shore Nova Scotia. Apart from piano, she loves spending time in nature, with her cat “Tenuuto”.
